Kitchen Worker
Position Summary
The Kitchen Worker keeps our kitchen running smoothly so clients receive nutritious, well-prepared meals on time. This person sets out breakfast and lunch, preps for dinner, keeps the kitchen clean and stocked, and orders supplies. The role supports a safe, welcoming, recovery-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Set out breakfast and lunch each day on schedule
• Prepare ingredients and food items for the dinner meal
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans, and put them away
• Clean and sanitize counters, equipment, and food service areas
• Take inventory of food and kitchen supplies
• Order groceries and supplies, staying within budget
• Receive deliveries and put items away properly
• Keep the kitchen stocked so meals are never delayed
• Follow food safety, storage, and sanitation standards
• Note dietary restrictions and allergies provided by staff and prepare meals accordingly
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage time well
• Reliable, punctual, and organized
• Basic math and recordkeeping skills for inventory and ordering
• Ability to maintain client confidentiality
• Comfortable working respectfully with people in recovery
• Must pass required background check and screenings
Physical Requirements
• Stand and walk for most of the shift
• Lift up to [40] pounds
• Bend, reach, and carry supplies and equipment
• Work in a warm, fast-paced environment
Work Schedule
• Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Weekends and holidays off unless otherwise arranged
