**Job Title: Housekeeper 

**Location:** Avalon Wellness & Recovery Center, Lawrence KS

**Reports To:** Maintenance Supervisor

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Housekeeper to join our team at Avalon Wellness & Recovery Center. The Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our clients and staff. This role requires a compassionate individual who understands the sensitive nature of our work and is committed to upholding the standards of care in our therapeutic setting.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in all areas of the facility, including patient rooms, common areas, restrooms, and offices.
- Ensure all surfaces, furniture, and fixtures are cleaned and sanitized regularly to maintain a healthy environment.
- Manage laundry services, including washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and personal garments as needed.
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and materials, notifying management when inventory is low.
- Follow established infection control protocols and safety procedures to ensure the well-being of all clients and staff.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the facility management in a timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation of rooms for new admit clients, ensuring that all spaces are welcoming and clean.
- Collaborate with the care team to support the overall therapeutic environment of the facility.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of all residents, adhering to HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.

- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify areas requiring attention. 

- Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

**Qualifications:**

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping experience, particularly in healthcare settings, is an advantage.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, with an understanding of their proper usage and safety precautions.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Compassionate and respectful attitude towards individuals with substance use disorders.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

**Physical Requirements:**

- Ability to lift and move items up to [specified weight, e.g., 25 pounds].
- Capability to stand, walk, bend, and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in varied environments within the facility.
